Why The Composition of The Hydrodynamic Smooth Oil Film is The Foundation For Improving The Service Life of The Reducer

First of all, a reasonable choice of lubricating oil is the key to ensuring sufficient smoothness. When selecting lubricating oil, the linear speed, ultimate load, working temperature, working environment and other factors should be considered first, and the lubricating oil should be selected reasonably.

 

Some oil recommended by imported reducer manufacturers and some recommended by domestic reducer manufacturers are unreasonable. At the same time, there are improper situations when domestic oil are replaced for imported oil. This situation is very detrimental to the service life of the reducer. In a short period of time (like 1 year), it is impossible to see the serious consequences caused by improper use without smooth oil analysis skills. Therefore, the choice of smooth oil should receive more attention.

 

Secondly, ensure the cleanliness of the oil.

When the reducer, lubricating oil and external load are determined, the thickness of all the hydrodynamic lubricating oil films of the gear and reducer is also stable. The thickness of most oil films is between a few microns to tens of microns. Abrasive particles and external pollutants in the normal operation of the reducer will destroy the oil film condition and accelerate the wear of related moving parts. This condition is carried out at the moving speed. High temperature and high pressure will accelerate the conversion of smooth oil. Therefore, the number of abrasive particles and improving the cleanliness of the lubricating oil can greatly improve the slippery parts and smoothness.

 

Thirdly, avoid accidents.

The reducer will dry burning due to oil leakage, and wear will increase due to water, dust, mud, etc., therefore, it is necessary to regularly check the dynamic seal points, exhaust plugs, oil level changes and other conditions in the spot check to prevent external contaminants from entering the reducer, and poor lubricity and dry burning due to insufficient grease. For the reducer that uses cooling water to cool the lubricating oil or working in open steam, it is necessary to strengthen the inspection of the lubricating oil ingress to avoid slipping problems caused by water ingress.

 

Fourthly, regularly monitor the quality of lubricating oil to achieve "quality oil replacement".
The lubricating oil will not only cause dust, water and other external pollutants to enter, but also cause aging and deterioration due to the continuous deceleration of the internal abrasive particles, which will lead to the early failure of the lubricant. Therefore increasing cleanliness can extend the lifespan of the reducers.
